19 June 2024

CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA, 19 JUNE 2024: Kord Defence (Kord), an Australian technology company has announced that it will be supplying a number of its Advanced RACU Commander Systems to the Ukrainian Military under the Australian Government’s $100m package of military assistance announced by the Deputy Prime Minister on the 27th of April.

The Systems will form part of high priority equipment required by Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline. Kord will also provide comprehensive training to Ukrainian soldiers.

Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, recently visited Kord’s Canberra facility to inspect the technology as well as to thank staff for their efforts in assisting Ukraine in its war against Russia.

Dr Peter Moran, Managing Director of the Kord Group thanked the Ambassador for his interest and for visiting Kord’s facility. He said, "We are delighted to equip Ukrainian soldiers with our RACU Commander systems, which we are confident will enhance their safety and lethality on the frontline”. He went on to say “Our RACU Technology will enable Ukrainian soldiers to keep 'head up, eyes on target, hands on weapon, and we are honoured to stand with other nations and industries in aiding their efforts."

The RACU Commander System is unique in its ability to offer a programmable, centralised point of control for al weapon-mounted and body-worn electronic devices, including radios. This Technology, which is world-leading, provides seamless functional integration of both current and future soldier systems. The system includes a programmable 3 button Controller (Commander) as well as a range of adapters which enable either wired or wireless control of the electronic devices.

The Controller is designed to attach specifically to a quad rail or similar system and can be deployed singly or as a linked pair of control units. Each unit can be configured with one, two, or three buttons, allowing for a variety of button-press combinations for programming. Device control can be exercised directly or indirectly from the Controller, and buttons can be activated using different techniques or actions.

Dr Moran said “Think of it as a simple, common remote for the soldier, which gives them quick, easy and intuitive control.”
