Kord Defence announced today that it had signed a $1.4m contract with the US Marine Corps (USMC) to complete the development and evaluation of its Rifle Accessory Control Unit (RACU) Technology.

Managing Director, Dr Peter Moran, said "it was the fourth such contract that Kord had received and would enable it to complete development of the Systems that the USMC had been testing over the past 3 years and to integrate them to a range of advanced US electronic devices and systems including an intelligent weapon rail and head-up display."

Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Melissa Price MP, said it was an example of how Defence Innovation Hub is opening doors for Australian companies.

"I'm pleased to see the investment our Government made in Kord has enabled them to grow and pursue new export opportunities in global markets" Minister Price said.

The contract not only enables Kord to complete the development of its RACU Technology but also further cement Australian industry as producers to world-leading technology in high demand globally.
