Australian Innovation on Display: Kord Group at AUSA 2025

17 October 2025
Kord Group joined Team Defence Australia at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition 2025, held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. As one of 77 Australian defence industry companies selected to exhibit, Kord showcased its world-leading Rifle Accessory Control Unit (RACU) System to a global audience of over 44,000 attendees from more than 90 countries.
The AUSA Annual Meeting is North America’s premier land-power exposition, bringing together military leaders, defence industry innovators, and policymakers. This year’s theme, “Agile, Adaptive, Lethal: Winning at the Pace of Change,” resonated strongly with Kord’s mission to empower soldiers with intuitive, high-performance control technologies that enhance operational effectiveness in dynamic environments.
Kord’s RACU System, a programmable push-button controller mounted directly to a soldier’s weapon, enables seamless control of body-worn and weapon-mounted electronic devices—such as radios, laser aimers, and flashlights—without compromising tactical posture. This “common remote” allows soldiers to maintain situational awareness with their head up, eyes on target, and hands on weapon, shaving critical seconds off device operation in high-pressure scenarios.
Dr Peter Moran, Managing Director of Kord Group, commented on the significance of the event:
“AUSA 2025 provided an outstanding platform to demonstrate our RACU technology to key decision-makers and partners. The interest we received reinforces the global demand for streamlined, soldier-centric control systems that improve safety, responsiveness, and mission success.”
Kord’s participation at AUSA 2025 builds on its growing international footprint, with RACU systems already deployed by Ukrainian forces and extensively tested by the U.S. Marine Corps.
As part of Team Defence Australia’s dynamic engagement program, Kord continues to elevate the profile of Australian defence innovation on the world stage. The company remains committed to delivering technologies that are simple to learn, robust in design, and adaptable across a wide range of operational scenarios.
